Cottage has landscaped garden with flowers and little pathways, plus patio furniture for sitting outside and gazing at the sea. Private Hot Tub in back patio area. Living room offers River Rock wood burning fireplace and full ocean views. TV w/Cable. VCR, DVD Player, Satellite Radio, and High Speed Internet are also provided. Parking in driveway for 2 cars. NO PETS OR SMOKING ALLOWED.

Very nice, comfortable, clean, well-stocked cottage on the beach. Sometimes some loud foot traffic outside, especially bothersome when late at night. Good location otherwise, near (walking distance) but not too near to the boardwalk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Black Pearl. The view is to die for and the short drive to Boardwalk, Mystery Spot, stores etc. made it all the more convenient. Its right atop the Seabright beach which is one of the more beautiful beaches in Santa Cruz. The house is old and perhaps could be a little better maintained on the outside esp the front yard that was kind-of overgrown. But that did add a charm of its own from the meticulously maintained homes we came from in San Jose. The inside could use a deep cleaning service and the fact that there is no wireless or long distance calling available should be mentioned in the literature sent to prospective tenants.

This is a gorgeous home in a great location. Pricey but well worth it if you are an architecture buff. Fantastic gardens and charm plus. From the rounded front door to the stone fireplace and the cosy master bedroom we loved this house and would love to stay there even if it didn't have an incredible view and great beach access. Well stocked and supplied with everything you need and many extras. Great getaway!
